Interjection

They called me,
And surprisingly, I heard.
This time, I took a firm decision,
brought out those drying paints,
And let my brushes run loose, without any thought on how I’ll do it and the detailing.
No standards of perfection, no rough sketches, just an idea and this pillow cover as my canvas. And I let imagination take the front seat.
I knew there was no coming back once the colours touched the cloth, no corrections, only the final picture. But this time, I seriously didn’t care.

I stitched some pillow covers in August last year, with a desire to paint them. But never got time to sit back, relax, and do what I wanted to with a calm mind, without any stress of other tasks waiting to be done; some jobs life had tangled me in.  And see, I never got that break until I fell ill previous week.
I’m surprised and saddened when I reflect on how I wished for illness in the back of my mind so that I could take a holiday from this rut of life without feeling guilty. And when I was kind of bedridden this Monday, after a sleepless night the previous day, I  recalled those paints lying in the drawers. It was time I painted again.
I’m amused to think its becoming  a tradition – it’s the second time I started painting when I was idle owing to illness. Previously, I painted these Canvas shoes.
And this pillow cover had been waiting for long. The basic designing had already been decided and drawn, only the paints and brushes were missing from the scene since September.

But now, I have decided not to let it happen again. I have to accept this fast paced life, accept the things I can’t get out of now and interject things I want to do in this packed routine.

So,This was what a past Hargun wanted to do, and I filled colours in it. There’s something the present Hargun wants to do..and I hope it will be done soon 🙂

I love the way our art work reflects who we are at different times. Great post.

      Couldn’t agree more 🙂
While painting this one, I realised that if I had to do it from scratch now , maybe I wouldn’t have written my name. So, the thinking has changed from September to January 😉
And yes , just like I mentioned I have an idea what I’ll do now. I hope you’ll like that too 🙂

Thanks a lot for coming over and sharing your viewpoint. I’m glad to talk to you 🙂

She has a great choice because that one was so Indian with its colours and patterns. Best suited to gift a foreigner 😉
And yes, I hope to have such adventures with bloggers once in my life 😛

You’re quite talented, otherwise you wouldnt attempt to try drawing directly on the cloth. It looks really nice. I like the gradient of colors.

I’m glad you liked it 🙂
Yes, trying the colours and the Patten directly in the cloth was a dare I did. And thankfully it all worked out fine.
The colour combinations were also decided on the spot as and when I found the desired colour dried on opening the bottle :p
And I think it was good to take green as it promotes calmness and positivity 🙂
Thanks a lot for coming over and the appreciation. And yes, not to forget the details you observed 🙂

Nice one Hargun. One always has to interject things that you really want to do because life otherwise goes one. You are the one that needs to take charge and make time for things that you love. I figured this for myself and believe it is true

I was just wondering if an ill Hargun can do this then what a normal Hargun would be capable of doing? 😕 Liked the sketch as well as colors. Nicely done! However, I just hope going forward you won’t ask for an illness to make that needed time for you. I understand that people these days live a hectic life but at some point they have to realize that there should be a “Me Time” in between the work, wherein they can sit and relax and do whatever they want without any stress. I would be happy if you could do that for yourself going forward. So yeah, “Sketch Without Stress” and have a click-click weekend ahead. 😉 Stay healthy. Good night. tc! 🙂

I’m glad you liked the piece of art 🙂
Also, I have decided to interject such ‘me time’ so that such a thing wouldn’t happen again. Thanks a Lot for those wishes. I need them !

And I hope you too will have a great week ahead and get back to blogging those amazing pictures too 🙂
      Tc and stay blessed 🙂

I hope you would rather leave out the illness and take more time to indulge in yourself!!

As for the picture, the shades in the girl’s face is my most favorite part and the letters are good too.. Beautiful one.. 🙂

      Haha…you got some idea 😉
I tried to bring mysticism in the picture.. And that’s what its all about.
I know, I have decided to not to wait for illness henceforth. Need a lot of wishes 🙂
And thanks a for everything Aadhirai 🙂
I’m glad you liked the shades..I was a bit apprehensive about using black but it came out fine in the end and I couldn’t settle on any other colour for it as well 😉
