Wild Adventures

Arleen was diligently preparing her sales report since  morning. It was going to be mid night soon and the presentation still had loads to be done. What was making her even more nervous was thought of her boss.He was a groggy old man, who would bark and bite if she gave anything less than perfect to him. Sitting was getting increasingly tough and sleep was overpowering her ,yet she had no option but to continue.All of a sudden, she heard a loud bang, the ground beneath her feet shook hard and her head went dizzy.  Unbelievably, In the next moment she went flying into the computer screen and BOOM! Hey..there should have been a crash between Arleen’s head and laptop’s screen here but amazingly she was standing  alright on her legs with no obvious signs of injury. But where was she? This wasn’t her room. In fact she hadn’t seen the place ever before. She decided to explore the place but it was all like a dark black tunnel . She continued walking with no idea where she was going or what was the way out. Then suddenly, lightening struck the place, lighting everything up as if the place was on fire and within the  next few seconds she found herself in amidst  lush green wilderness.The place was lined with huge trees as far as she could see, filled with sounds of birds chirping merrily. She was still bewildered, looking around when she saw a huge glass screen and her boss staring out at her from it. She ran up to her boss’s grinning face but the glass wall prevented her from reaching out to him. She was still trying to budge it when she felt the ground shaking. She looked up and saw a dust storm far away, speedily approaching her. As it neared, she realized it was a wild bull being chased by a pack of jackals! Lo and BEHOLD! The next scene was Arleen  crazily running ahead, bull on the second position and jackals competing for third. The only thing out-of-place in this mad race was Arleen’s wild screams.Out of the blue, lighting struck again and Arleen was transported  to a place full of people. It looked like a shopping site to Arleen. There were  girls posing in fabulous dresses and oh! Those were some of Arleen’s favorite brands. Then the spotlight focused on her. She saw her boss put his cursor on Arleen and next she was seen posing in various angles in her dress. He kept on clicking her and  until she was exhausted by posing in that dress. Finally, he clicked the’ buy now’ button. “Phew!” Arleen took a sigh of relief. But this relief was short-lived as lightning struck her again. This time her boss had changed the browser’s tab to open Facebook. It was then she understood what was happening. She was trapped in a computer and her boss was maneuvering this stupid mess!But for the first time Arleen got excited as she saw her boss enter the password to his FB account. “At last ,some benefit..” she thought happily. But her excitement was converted to horror when she saw her boss open her timeline. . As luck would have it, this man started writing a post on her timeline stating Arleen as an incompetent sales manager who made his company lose a major contract by her amateurish presentation. He was typing how he intended to fire Arleen when a panicked Arleen got an idea to tackle the messy situation . She mischievously moved the cursor away from where he was typing. Her boss noticed it and brought it back right at its place and started again. Arleen repeated her trick. This time her boss got so mad that he picked her by the leg intending to  throw her into the YouTube tab. This was the same place where she landed the first time when lightning struck her. Arleen struggled to break free as she didn’t want to race again but in vain. But luckily this time she landed in a swamp. Splash! She was soaked in muddy water and on the top of it she couldn’t move about. It was too slippery. She could hear her boss’s evil laugh. Before she could get a chance to say a word or two to the  moron, she saw a crocodile coming  her way. Terrified, She frantically tried to get away as the dangerous croc neared close. A shiver went down her spine as she noticed its spear-shaped teeth (& there were plenty of them too!) ready to chew her and SNAP! Arleen woke up screaming at the top of her lungs. In this, she hit her head on something and realized it was her laptop’s screen. It was then it dawned on her what had happened. Silly Arleen had slept on her laptop’s keyboard while making the presentation. So,It was all a DREAM! She laughed out loud, heaving a sigh of relief. But as her gaze turned to the wall clock,she realized how momentary this relief was. It was already 9 am and she still had complete the presentation, get ready , and reach office by 9:30! Out she jumped, crazily trying not to make her dream come alive….YET AGAIN!
